A Life Coach is Like a Sports Coach
Author: Dream Liver
Ever hear the expression in sports that the best defense is a great offense? All of the really good sports coaches understand, and so do Life Coaches. What it boils down to, is simply taking on the challenges, the issues, problems and concerns head on. It is simply then a case of ensuring that you are consistently living a win win life.
Expressing gratitude for what you have, for the loved ones in your life, for the warmth of the love and endearment you are experiencing on a daily basis are the goals, home runs and touchdowns of life. Once you develop the ability to challenge your adversity with wins you have a simple formula:
Adversity combined with action and the tools taught through your studies of Personal Development will always equal one of two things, if not both:
1. Success, or
2. Gratitude.
Living your life with a win win philosophy, regardless of the challenges, trial or tribulations will always empower you to create a win. Feel free to join us for a free tele-event where we will be sharing the philosophies of overcoming adversity and developing a successful future.
Is it a vision board or a picture board?
Author: Dream Liver
Do you have a vision board? You know a board where you have pictures of the “things” and the experiences that you want. All of the personal development gurus will tell you that the vision board is an important part of your ability to move forward toward your goals….. and they are right.
Just having the board and the fancy pictures however is not good enough. After all, you can sit and stare at the board all day long, waiting for the Universe to deliver all of those things into your world. That delivery isn’t about to happen though, until you are ready, you are prepared and you put the following 4 other ingredients into your vision board and your goals:
1. You have to have a true burning desire to possess the item, or to experience the feeling,
2. You have to believe that you deserve it,
3. You have to decide that you are going to achieve it,
4. You must take the actions that are required to get it done.
Without these 4 other ingredients, your vision board is just a picture board. A vision board is designed to empower your belief systems into achieving, through desire, decision, belief and action. A life coach can mentor and guide you in the process.
Taking part in some life coaching will allow you to learn how to put some focused energy into your wants, needs and desires. Developing your belief structure and realizing your limiting beliefs is where that process excells. A life coach will empower you to achieve all that you can believe.
You Deserve Better
Author: Personal Growth Mentor
Tip number two on how to use stress as a personal growth tool, is to allow stress to motivate you to make a positive change in your life. Nobody likes feeling stressed out, so why not use those feelings as motivation to remove them from your life.
In many cases it is these negative feelings that are the most powerful motivators for change. We should all be able to live in a happy and relaxed state of mind. When stress starts to rule your life, know that you deserve to feel better.
The important thing to remember is that you must get to the root cause of the stress in order to eliminate it. If you don’t know what is wrong, how are you going to be able to fix it? If you just simply need a break then go for a walk, or meditate, or listen to a nice piece of music. Hiding behind things such as overeating, smoking, taking drugs or alcohol is just going to make matters worse in the long run.
Remember prolonged stress can be a contributing factor to depression, anxiety and many health concerns. Do not accept it as part of your everyday life. Know that you deserve better. Your life coach may be able to help you identify where the problem lies, and to help you get back on the right track.
The Law of Attraction at Work
Author: Arts Musings
Do you ever wonder why the Law of Attraction doesn’t work for you? I know in the past that I certainly have. Why do I get more bills when I want wealth? Why do I encounter unhappy and angry people all the time? Why do others get to travel to the exotic and exciting places I want to go.
It wasn’t until I understood that the Law of Attraction was working in my life (albeit in a negative way) that everything started to change for me. You see, it was what I was focusing on that got me more of what I was focusing on. Kind of a catch 22 scenario. I focused on more bills, so got more bills - car broke down unexpectedly, kids needed to borrow money, Christmas snuck up on us again. You know the story.
My life coach pointed out to me that as long as I focus on what I don’t want, I’ll always continue to get more of it. She suggested to put my focus on what I want. Very soon, coincidences weren’t coincidences - they were the Law of Attraction bringing those things that I wanted into my awareness. These opportunities changed everything. Let me give you a couple of examples:
I focused on financial abundance and within a week we received a $657.00 check in the mail from our mortgage company, refunding an overpayment of our prior year’s property taxes. We also unexpectedly received a $5.41 check from our cellular service company from a class action suit we knew nothing about. A small amount, but financial abundance nevertheless. We received a $300 credit on our credit card for purchase bonuses for that year.
I focused on rebuilding a healthy lifestyle. One of the things that I love to do is go for walks in the woods connected to our property. I won’t do this by myself and I didn’t have a partner everyday. The very next day, an old walking partner from over a decade ago approached me at a coffee shop. It seems she had just moved into the area we now live and would love to start walking together again! I also saw the very next day that our local gym is now offering step aerobics classes which I absolutely enjoy.
On list of 100 places to see, Italy was very near the top. On an upcoming conference that I already knew I was attending, the announcement was made that it would be held in Rome, Italy! Yes, we travelled to Rome and saw almost all the places that we wanted to see. Now I know we will return to Italy and spend some more time experiencing the places we didn’t manage to pack into that amazing vacation.
It’s just like when you’re thinking of buying a new car or truck. All of the sudden you see that car/truck on the road in exactly the color you want. It’s not that there are more of that car/truck on the road, you’re just now aware of them. Focusing on what you want brings the people, places and things you want into your awareness.
Make a commitment to yourself to start putting your focus and energy on those things you truly want!
Do you believe it when you see it or see it when you believe it?
Author: Dream Liver
This is a question that, when answered honestly, will let you know whether life coaching and becoming a student of personal development is for you. This all equates to your mindset and the ability to really apply the principles of Personal Development to you.
So what is Mindset?
Mindset is defined as a set of beliefs that affect somebody’s attitude, their way of thinking which determines their behavior and outlook.
So where do our beliefs come from? We are not born with them, we attain them as Life Happens. Our beliefs are instilled upon us by our parents, society, our circle of influence and the Media. Here are some of the Limiting beliefs that come up the most when I am presenting the Law of Attraction either live or on a teleseminar:
Money is hard to come by
The rich are all greedy
I don’t deserve that
I will have to work really hard
I am not smart enough to do that and
I cannot afford that
Realizing of course that these are all learned beliefs we can also realize that we can un-learn them and replace them with postive beliefs instead. The simplest way to do that is to become a student of Personal Development and to use the services of a Life Coach.
Remember the old saying of Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — either way you are right. This is a very true saying and proves that if you choose to believe then you will be choosing to achieve. Change your limiting beliefs through studying Personal Development and the use of a Life Coach. The results will be astonishing for you. After all Personal Development is simply a process: A process of causing yourself to change for the better, become stronger, more impressive and successful in all aspects.
Why Your Life Sucks…
Author: Arts MusingsOkay, not everyone’s life sucks. But if you’re reading this because the title caught your attention, then chances are you’re not happy with your life. Why aren’t you happy? Because deep down, you know you’re meant to be living a different life and you’re just not doing it. This brings up 2 questions:
- Why aren’t you living a better life
- What can you do about it
Let’s address the first one - Why aren’t you living a better life? This could be because you’re spending so much time pleasing others that you have no time left to take care of you. Family to take care of, spouses to keep happy, friends to be a sounding board for, jobs that pay the bills but don’t fulfill you. Where in all of this are You? Where are you taking care of your wants and wishes. If you sacrifice yourself for others, you’re doing them a disservice, but more importantly, you’re losing yourself in the bargain.
What do you really want? What makes you happy when you think about it? What dreams have you left behind in the name of “responsibility” and “sacrifice”. If this is you, that feeling of “there must be something better” is your intuition telling you that you’ve got another life you should be living. Likely you’re comparing your life to another vision of what you want. That’s what creates the contrast and the feeling that your life sucks.
So what can you do about it? If you have a vision or an idea of what your life should look like, begin to explore it. You’ll find that when you have a vision of what you want, and begin to work towards it, you have renewed energy and happiness. This is fueled by a sense of purpose. Do you remember that feeling? That’s what life is meant to be like.
Follow your dreams. No one else can do that for you. Do you think it’s out of reach? It’s not. If you don’t know where to start, consider life coaching. It will help you focus on what you want for your life and give you the tools you need to be successful.
Remember, you are an extraordinary You.
Do It Now!
Author: Personal Growth Mentor
Are you a procrastinator? I think it is safe to say that we are all guilty of this at one point or another, some of us are definitely worse than others. It is so much easier to say that you will do something later than to actually get off your behind and get it done now.
In “Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude” (an incredible book by Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone) they give us a great suggestion of a self motivator DO IT NOW! When you have something in mind that you want to accomplish, just do it now. Don’t wait until later today when you feel up to it, or tomorrow, or the next day, DO IT NOW! A great way to practice this is to begin with the little things. You will soon develop a habit of taking immediate action which is a powerful reflex response.
You can also find an accountability partner, a life coach is a great example of this. If you make a committment to yourself to accomplish something within a week’s time, you are much more likely to get it done if you know you have someone else to answer to. We tend to hold our committments to others at a higher degree of importance than our committments to ourselves.
When I decided to implement these techniques into my day to day life, I quickly found myself actually getting stuff done, instead of just talking about what I am going to get done. I would love to hear your comments and suggestions about how you combat procrastination in your life.
Your Coach Can Help You Win the Game
Author: Personal Growth Mentor
I must admit when I first heard about life coaching, I found the idea a little ridiculous. Why would I need a coach to help me live my life when I already know how to live it? It wasn’t until I actually put my skepticism aside and joined a coaching program, that I was able to understand, appreciate and even experience the benefits of having a life coach.
The purpose of a life coach is similar to that of a coach for a sports team, to keep you motivated, guide you through the steps required to achieve your goals, and to help you ultimately win the game. The game in this case is your life. Your life coach is unbiased and is therefore the best person to keep you in integrity to yourself.
A life coach is there to help you to identify where you are currently at in each area of your life, and then to guide you through identifying the steps required to get you where you want to be in each area. Your coach will help you make a plan to achieve your goals and keep you accountable for sticking to the plan. There may even be areas of your life that need attention that you haven’t even thought about, your coach will have you exploring these areas as well.
I have personally experienced breakthroughs in many areas of my life thanks to my life coach. My life is now on purpose, my why, my vision, my goals are clearly defined, I will win the game!
What’s on Your Bucket List?
Author: Arts Musings![]()
Have you heard of or watched the movie “The Bucket List” with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman? If not, it’s about 2 men that make a “bucket list” - what to do before you kick the bucket - after they’ve been diagnosed with cancer, and then proceed to live the things on the list. The emphasis on “live”.
Too often we wait for tragic events, or critical moments in our lives to start living. This isn’t the way life is meant to be. In fact, living our dreams is exactly the way we’re supposed to be living. Think for a moment….what would you do if you found out you only had 6 months to live? What would you do different? What would you want to experience? What kind of person would you be? What would you dare to dream and who would you ideally be if you knew nothing could stop you?
Consider making your own bucket list. Write down all the things you want to do, have and experience. Then start living your dream. Open your mind to the possibilities of your life. If you feel stuck, consider working with a life coach, read inspiring biographies, and explore your own personal growth with the myriad of quality books available to you today.
Make a commitment to yourself to begin living your potential and join the ranks of the happy and fulfilled.
Engaging the Power of Support
Author: Arts MusingsFor many of us, dreams are just that…dreams. What successful people know is that to create the life of your dreams you must have a support network to help you get there. Here’s why…
Chances are that you are conditioned to believe something about yourself that limits you from achieving what you want. That’s right - your beliefs have a lot to do with what you will and won’t achieve in your life. Here’s where your support network comes in. When you surround yourself with people who believe in you (often more than you do in yourself at the moment), then you’ll subconsciously reprogram your thinking to believe that you too can achieve your dreams.
Support networks come in many forms. Here’s just a few that you can tap into:
Life Coaching helps you overcome possibility blindness by opening your eyes to your own unlimited potential and guides you though your success blueprint.
Support Groups put you in a group of like-minded people all working towards a common or similar goal. Group coaching is another example of this.
Mentors come in many forms. You’ll know it when you come across one because they awaken you to your possibilities and are shining examples of what you too want for yourself. These people aren’t necessarily ones you know personally.
Supportive Friends and Family - where “supportive” is the key word. You want to spend time with people who want you to be successful, not those that hold you back.
Considering that you are your community, your thoughts, your actions and feelings are very much a result of the people you spend the most time with. You owe it to yourself to make your precious time well spent, surrounded by an empowering environment and limit the negative ones. You’ll feel so much better about yourself and will be in a position to pass that feeling onto others…perhaps be a mentor to someone else.
