A Fresh approach to Personal Development in a Changing World

tug-of-war.jpgAlthough it doesn’t feel like it when you are dealing with adversity, there is always a bright side and in the words of a friend of mine, when dealing with adversity, persistence removes resistance.

There are some people in history that prove the above statement.  I will introduce you to a couple of folks that dealt with their adversity in a fashion that has put them in the History books.  Have a look around your life — your circle of influence and your role models and you will find other proof of the law of Polarity when it comes to the adversity people face.

2 people that have overcome tremendous adversity:

  1. failed in business — bankruptcy in 1831
  2. defeated for Legislature in 1832
  3. Fiance dies in 1835
  4. nervous breakdown in 1836
  5. defeated in Election, 1836
  6. defeated for Congress, 1843
  7. defeated again for Congress, 1846
  8. defeated again for Congress, 1848
  9. defeated for Senate, 1855
  10. defeated for Vice President, 1856
  11. defeated for Senate, 1858
  12. Elected President of the United States of America in 1860

– Abraham Lincoln

And another:

  1. born 1880
  2. became ill at 19 months of age (unknown disease)
  3. became blind and deaf
  4. became first blind and deaf person to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree
  5. Became a renowned writer
  6. became a renowned lecturer
  7. was awarded the Precsidential Medal of Honor by President Lyndon Johnson
  8. 1965 elected to the Women’s Hall of Fame at the New York World’s Fair

– Helen Keller

These are just 2 of the examples of people that understood the Law of Attraction.  Both realized that you must be bigger than your problems, more powerful than any circumstances in your life.

“It has been my philosophy of life that difficulties vanish when faced boldly”

~~Isaac Asimov
