Here’s a very insightful and powerful interview we found with Will Smith on the Law of Attraction, goals and success. There are some great nuggets here …

What really strikes me in this interview is how Will talks about the power we have when we make a choice, rather feeling like we are at effect at all the things that happen in our life. The true foundation of the Law of Attraction.

This video is worth watching twice!

Discover Your Dream Life!

Day 7: Personal Growth & Education

Many people think education ends when they leave school, college or university. Education is an ongoing process and something most adults do through taking additional courses, reading books and attending workshops.

The same holds true for your personal growth. In fact, your growth is essential to the quality of your life. As in everywhere else in nature, “If you’re not growing, you’re dying.” If you’re choosing to live a happy and fulfilling life, personal growth MUST be play an important role. By getting to know who you are and what you’re all about, you can then direct it to the type of work and activities that bring you the greatest joy.

growthIf money, time and other circumstances weren’t an issue in your life, what personal growth and education pursuits would you enjoy?

Do you pursue your own personal growth?
What kinds of programs, seminars and workshops do you participate in?
What other educational pursuits do you enjoy?
Are you retraining in a new field?
What books do you read?

Given the opportunity, what changes would you make in your personal growth and continuing education?

Discover Your Dream Life!

Day 6: Spirituality

Spirituality goes beyond our religious beliefs. It’s the essence of who we are, the connection with our soul. Many times, especially in our hectic lives, we disregard and ignore our spiritual connection thinking there isn’t enough time or that it isn’t important. Our connection with self and a higher source can be a life-line in difficult times and makes the easier times much richer in experience. Spirituality is our re-fueling station.

zenToday, take a look at your spiritual life and envision what your ideal would be.

If money, time and other circumstances weren’t an issue in your life, what would your spiritual pursuits look like?

    What are your spiritual beliefs?
    Do you practice them?
    Who are you with?
What is your spiritual community like?
Do you find a sense of peace in your spiritual practices?
Do you attend retreats or spiritual gatherings?

Given the opportunity, what changes would you make in your spiritual path?

Discover Your Dream Life!

Day 5: Career

For many of us, our careers and business take center stage. That’s not surprising since we spend 1/3 of our waking hours working or doing work we love - or rather should love. Unfortunately, for many, work is a four letter word. It’s not something that brings joy and fulfillment. Our work should be an extension of who we and what we represent - a culmination of the gift we have to offer to the world.

Our work can be the other 4 letter word - P-L-A-Y! Today, put some thought into what that would be for you. It’s uncovering your life purpose and directing it to a meaningful platform. You can earn money doing what you love.

careerIf money, time and other circumstances weren’t an issue in your life, what would your career or business look like?

Are you fulfilled?
Are you passionate about your work and your contribution?
Do you work for someone else or for yourself?

Day 4: Social / Friends

The connection we have with others, the human interaction of our daily lives has a profound effect on our happiness. It’s the touch of others, the conversations we have, the life we experience with others that helps us grow. And growth is essential to life.

Today, explore what your social life looks like and put great thought into what you want it to be.

familyDay 3: Family

Today, as we continue discovering what you dream life is, we’ll take at look at family. Most of us have one - and if we don’t, we’d like to experience the connection that family represents. Whether you are currently close with family, or far away from your ideal, explore what “family” means to You and what you want it to represent in your life…

If money, time and other circumstances weren’t an issue in your life, what would the relationship you have with your family look like?

What’s your relationship with your family like?
    Are you close?
How do you spend your time together?
How do you feel when you’re with them?
    Do you avoid them?

Discover Your Dream Life!

financial-freedomDay 2: Wealth

If money, time and other circumstances weren’t an issue in your life, how wealthy would you be?

How much money do you have?
How much do you earn?
What do you spend your money on?
How much do you donate?
What great works are you doing with your wealth?

Given the opportunity, what changes would you make in your wealth?

Journal about your current wealth and what you ideally want it to look like.  Remember to include as many details as possible - sites, smells, events, people, feelings, etc.

When’s the last time you dreamt of a better life? Not just thought idly of it, but gave careful thought and detail to the kind of life that you would consider your dream life.

boy-and-cloudsI remember as a child, laying on the freshly mowed lawn, taking in the smell of grass and summer flowers while the wind gently blew across my body. I’d watch the clouds moving slowly by as my sisters and I would discover dragons, angels, boats, pirates and even dolphins floating by in the sky. The conversation would always turn to what we wanted to be when we grew up and the kind of fairy tale lives we would live. But those days are gone…

But are they really? Here’s what happened…as we grew up we stopped dreaming. Likely because we thought it the “responsible” thing to do, but more likely because we were taught by our parents, extended family, other role models and peers, that we were just dreaming and we’d never live the kind of life we dreamt of - it was just out of our reach. That’s enough to put a lid on your dreams!

They were wrong. Somewhere deep inside you, the part you’ve buried, you know this to be true as well. We know there’s more to life than just getting by and following the same unfulfilling routine day after day. Yet somehow, that joy, happiness and fulfillment that are our birthright continue to elude us no matter how hard we try to grasp them. And so, we’re left with a gnawing emptiness that we long to fill. That path takes us down disappointment road in a futile search for meaning and purpose in life. If you can identify with this, you may be ready to explore your dreams once more.

Welcome to an 8-part series, “Discover Your Dream Life!” Each day we’ll explore a different area of your life where you’ll define what dreams live inside you.

It’s your birthright to live a joyful and fulfilling life!

What activities do you enjoy because of your health?

Journaling is an important tool for your personal growth. If you already journal, you’ve likely experienced this … if you don’t journal, this may not make sense yet.

JournalingLet’s say you have an issue, a problem, a situation that distracts you from living joyfully - journaling helps you clarify not only causes, but also solutions. It’s a great way to work through the negative emotions you may be feeling. It helps you move from being stuck to moving down the right path in life.

So you’re feeling angry, confused, frustrated … fill in the blank. You take out your journal and start writing about what you’re feeling, why you feel this way, what got you there, and anything else that comes to mind. As you write, you’re creating an outlet for those negative emotions. This is a good thing! By getting this “off your chest” so to speak, you’ve now created the space for solutions to come.

If you don’t journal now, or don’t journal regularly, it could be you have unanswered questions…

What should I journal about?
How often should I journal?
Why is journaling so important?
How can journaling help me be successful?

These are great questions … and very common. If you’re new to journaling, want guidance with journaling, or just want to connect with others who journal, we have a FREE resource for you.

Quote of the Day

"We live in times of high stress. Messages that are simple, messages that are inspiring, messages that are life-affirming, are a welcome break from our real lives."
